Drew Barrymore
Drew
was such a wild child - and she really was a child. Her first TV
work was a dog food commercial when she was a baby. The dog bit
her nose and the crew were expecting to get sued, but the young
Drew just laughed. From there she went to a drama school but was
often not there because she was working on TV shows and films.
Her first big break came when she was cast as Gertie in one of
the most popular films ever, E.T. This bought her into the public
eye, bringing lots of media attention. Her mother wanted her to
network so she took her little girl to the Hollywood parties,
exposing her to the adult world.
"My
first drink at age nine, began smoking marijuana at ten, and at
twelve took up cocaine"
This was written by Drew aged 14 in her autobiography "Little
Girl Lost", after she had finished rehab and moved out
of home. Because of this reputation directors were reluctant to
cast her, but agreed because she had a way with people, learnt at
a young age. She progressed through films receiving good reviews,
working back up to being an A-list Hollywood star. Because of the
success of this years' film, The Wedding Singer, she is paid $3
million a movie. She has so far made 29 films, aged only 23
Drew has posed for Playboy, stripped on stage, and flashed her breasts at David Letterman on live tv, as a birthday present for him!
When Drew was 19 she met a 31 year old man. After a six week romance she asked him to marry her. They married in the early hours of the morning at a club by a psychic private detective minister. Mental!
